Empowering Young Women

We deliver personal, social, and educational development programmes for young women aged 15–25 years living across the North and West areas of Belfast.

Our project is strongly needs-led, with young women at the heart of everything we do. In addition to group programmes, we offer individual 1:1 mentoring support with a dedicated staff member. Together, they will create a personalised development plan tailored to each participant’s unique needs, helping them set and achieve their own goals. Annually we deliver a Social Action project, this year our young women explored the topic of 'Women in Non-traditional roles and what that looked like in todays society. Staff can also support young women with referrals to specialist services and advocacy work.

Personal Development

Throughout the course of the programme we focus on personal development for participants to improve their levels of motivation and self-esteem, as well as giving them the confidence to deal with change.

It gives people an opportunity to take a fresh look at their lives and see how much they are capable of achieving, together with the tools to make it happen.

Accredited Programmes

Weekly group work sessions are delivered to participants to support their personal development.

Some topics include Confidence & Self-Esteem, Money Management, Life Skills, CV Writing & Interview Skills, and other relevant courses.

Social Action Campaign

The group will also be involved in organising a social action campaign activity to create a positive impact in the community. In previous years, the groups have chosen campaigns such as the Feel Good February event, anti-spiking kits, and the Ma Ribbon Community as their social action activities. Our most recent social action event was She Did, You Can.
